National Firefighters' Day

May 4th marks National Firefighters' Day, coinciding with Saint Florian's Day, in recognition of his role as one of the first commanding firefighters of a Roman battalion and patron saint of firefighters. The International Firefighters' Day emblem features a distinctive blue and red ribbon.

Appreciation is extended to all firefighters, including wildland, structure, and local responders like our Lyle firefighters, who attend to various emergencies.

Furthermore, we value each of the Klickitat County Fire Districts, city Fire Departments, U.S. Forest Service, Washington Department of Natural Resources, and the Columbia Gorge five county mutual aid agreement.

We need each other from time to time through mutual aid and it's always reassuring when your hear on the radio, calling in route, to help support each other.
