2026 Zone 2 Burn Ban Begins May 18 (Lyle)

The Klickitat County Department of Emergency Management has provided a Burn Ban date for Zone 2 for consideration by the Klickitat County Commissioners. Zone 2 includes the following fire districts: Lyle, Centerville, Dallesport, Rural 7, Wishram, Klickitat, High Prairie, Wahkiacus, and Goldendale City.

The Klickitat County Commissioners voted to approve the ban which will go into effect May 18th, 2026, until rescinded.

Residents are encouraged to take necessary precautions, focusing on creating and maintaining defensible spaces around structures. Between now and the start of the burn ban, it is crucial to exercise caution when burning, avoiding windy days and ensuring that burn piles are fully extinguished to prevent re-ignition.
