Spring is a great time to reduce fire risk on your property!

The Lyle Community Council, in partnership with the Lyle Fire Department and with support from the Washington Department of Natural Resources, is offering a free chipping opportunity to reduce fire risk and spread for those who live in the Lyle Fire District.
This event will help people reduce wildfire hazards around buildings and along driveways by removing small trees, limbs and brush which could otherwise fuel fires. This opportunity is provided free of charge, however donations are welcomed.
To participate, property owners in the Lyle Fire District must register by May 31, 2025 and have their piles ready by June 1 for chipping on June 4.

Once registered, start preparing your piles:

· No vines smaller than pinky finger
· Each pile no taller than 4 feet in height
· All cut ends facing the road and neatly stacked
· No dirt, rocks, rotting trees, or other inorganic materials
· Chips will be left on-site
